Description As part of investment in a new ash recovery plant, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team responsible for daily site maintenance activities at our new ash recovery plant, in addition to our existing chemical processing plant based at our Paisley site.
This role is for Standard shift of 8am to 5pm.
This role may also require occasional weekend, back shift and night-time working so requires a flexible approach to ensure that vital work is achieved timely and accurately.
The role will require some travel to other Scotland depots (with 20 miles) as required.
Based at Paisley Specialist Scotland.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance of both static and mobile plant, including the coordination of maintenance activities.
Assist in the further development of our PPM to improve plant availability and productivity  Work effectively with operations to coordinate maintenance and operational needs without compromising process efficiency/performance.
Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals Recommend changes in training, working practices and processes which will improve the business Participate in the purchasing process for equipment and subcontractors and internal processes such as appropriate sign off and raising of POs Work with our team to develop technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures.
Implementation and ongoing management of Agility (CMMS system) ensuring asset register and training is up to date  Manage site buildings and facilities to ensure that they are maintained to the serviceable condition as required.
Comply with all safety instruction and procedures reporting any unsafe practices, accidents or incidents.
Reporting of incidents as per company procedure.
Maintain the highest cleanliness of all working areas.
Complete all allocated paperwork and record keeping.
Encourage a culture of proactive health and safety management through GO reporting.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Full UK driving licence.
HNC/HND level qualified.
Multiskilled engineer.
Understanding of all legislation and critical requirements including PUWER and LOLER.
Mechanical engineering bias with electrical engineering competency, experience and qualifications.
Proactiveness.
Positive Influencing and communication skills.
Detailed and conscientious.
Proactive and reactive maintenance with good problem-solving skills.
Calm under pressure & when working to deadlines.
Flexibility and availability towards working times to ensure the site is kept operational.
Ideally experienced in working in a high-volume processing environment such as chemical manufacturing, chemical treatment, and/or processing.
Experience of Filtration systems Chemical transfer and dosing systems (N.B.
Training will be provided for the successful candidate)  Experienced in maintenance engineering of mobile and static plant in a processing environment.
Experience working production plant control technology including PLC and inverter-controlled systems.
Electrical control systems with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
Experienced in continuous process operations.
Effective leadership and coordination engineering employees.
Experienced in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
