Manufacturing company is currently looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer.
Job Summary:We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer.
Candidates with a strong background in working with large machinery, as well as mechanical and electrical systems, are encouraged to apply.
Familiarity with PLC programming would be beneficial but not required.
This role: Involves ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of equipment to achieve safe and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities: ? Oversee the operation, installation, and maintenance of sawmill machinery, including saws, and conveyors.
? Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime and enhance productivity.
? Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
? Assist with the optimisation of the production process and machinery to improve throughput and efficiency.
? Conduct regular inspections to ensure all machinery complies with safety regulations and standards.
? Provide technical support to other sawmill personnel, including guidance on the safe and efficient operation of machinery.
? Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
? Work collaboratively with external contractors and suppliers as needed.
? Contribute to the selection and procurement of tools, materials, and spare parts.
? Participate in training and development to keep up-to-date with technological advancements in sawmill machinery and control systems.
Requirements: ? Experience working with large industrial machinery.
? Electrical Engineering bias ? Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
? Basic knowledge of PLC programming (beneficial but not essential).
? Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
? Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to machinery operations.
? Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
? Good communication and teamwork abilities.
? Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
