Maintenance Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team.
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining (servicing), repairing, and adding safeguards including DC injection brakes, emergency stop buttons, etc., to wood and engineering machinery.
The machines are in our clients' workshops, based around the UK, in Education, NHS, Prison, and Private industry workshops.
The majority of the work we undertake does not require an overnight stay; however, there are occasions when an overnight stay is required (full expenses on account).
This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, as well as proficiency in using various power and hand tools.
Knowledge and experience of wood and engineering machines are desirable.
Must be apprentice trained to level 3 and 18th Edition qualified.
Working hours are Monday - Friday Days.
No weekend work.
Responsibilities Conduct annual machinery service on wood and engineering machinery.
Test and inspect safety-critical parts, interlocks, protection devices, and controls.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in machinery and equipment.
Install emergency stops, interlocks, DC braking, on/off contactors, etc.
Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to carry out maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing electrical work.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Qualifications Must be apprentice trained to NVQ level 3 and 18th Edition qualified.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to electrical work.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Relevant certifications or qualifications for the role.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Good customer service skills.
Clean Driving Licence.
A DBS check will need to be completed as part of the induction process as well as a high-security prison check (CTC clearance).
