Job Role: Maintenance Controller Location: Coventry Salary: £35,690 Shift: Days M-F / 37.5 hours Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent Benefits: 25 days holiday + BH, enhanced pension, overtime availability and company sick pay scheme Maintenance Controller Overview We're looking for a Maintenance Controller to join our team, where you'll be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled, to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
You'll ensure repairs are handled quickly and cost-effectively, working closely with suppliers and customers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet legal requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintenance Controller Key Responsibilities Manage vehicle downtime and ensure timely, cost-efficient repairs.
Communicate with customers and suppliers to expedite maintenance processes.
Ensure maintenance meets cost and quality standards, checking for warranties and rework opportunities.
Monitor downtime (VOR) and proactively minimize delays.
Process maintenance authorizations and ensure compliance with contracts.
Control maintenance budgets, track spend, and process recharges when necessary.
Source parts, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain effective relationships.
Support service center coordinators and liaise with regional managers for issue resolution.
Maintenance Controller Experience Required Experience as an HGV/LGV Technician, Workshop Controller or Maintenance Controller Familiarity with commercial vehicle maintenance, fleet management, and scheduling.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
IT literate, with the ability to produce performance reports.
Self-motivated, flexible problem solver, able to interact confidently with customers and suppliers.
Knowledge of Audatex or Body Shop repair processes is a plus.
