Job role : Maintenance Assistant Reporting to : Maintenance Manager Hourly rate: PT contract (30 hours/week, 52 weeks/year).
Salary: £13.05 per hour = £20,358 per annum Location : Victoria Education Centre Number of Roles Available : 1 We have a great opportunity for a keen and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant to support the team in the maintenance and repair of Victoria Education Centre.
This role will require you to have a general awareness and ability to understand and apply H&S regulations.
You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of general maintenance processes and a willingness to undergo training to improve your skills.
Purpose of the role : To assist with the day-to day maintenance of the buildings and equipment ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Centre.
Main Duties To support the Maintenance Team in the maintenance and repair of the Centre buildings, fixtures and fittings.
This will include maintenance of electrical, heating, plumbing and alarm systems.
To support the day to day running of the swimming pool.
To support the general running of the site including moving furniture and equipment, cleaning drains and roofs etc.
ensuring site safety for all users at all times.
To share the responsibility to open and lock up buildings as directed by the Site Manager.
(May require early start / late finish rota) To share the responsibility for all maintenance checks to ensure site compliance.
To share the responsibility for ordering and managing the stock and equipment needed to maintain the H&S of the site.
To be prepared to learn and improve skills relevant to the post, through in house training and/or external courses (i.e.
working at height, pool management, PAT testing).
To comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.
To be prepared to work out of hours and at weekends if necessary.
To be prepared to work at other local sites.
To agree to work to all existing and future Livability / School policies.
To maintain the Christian aims of Livability This position is subject to a cleared DBS enhanced check Essential Experience Qualifications: Proven literacy and IT skills for maintaining accurate records.
Willing to undergo training and improve own skills as relevant to the post.
Valid and full, clean driving licence Knowledge: General awareness and ability to understand and apply regulations (such as health & safety, manual handling regulations etc.)
Able to demonstrate knowledge of general maintenance processes.
Experience: Hands on experience in maintenance of buildings.
Working knowledge of safety issues/procedures.
Good DIY skills.
Technical/Work based skills: Able to operate electrical/hand tools /equipment.
Able to clear drain blockages.
General Skills and Attributes: Good team player, flexible in working arrangements ability to support maintenance issues at short notice if the need arises.
Able to show initiative and work proactively to ensure the smooth running of service provided at all times.
Punctual and reliable to support 'on call' rota.
Calm and patient when under pressure.
