Job summary We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Gynae Oncology Nursing team.
The post is based at Stoke Mandeville will require travel to other Buckinghamshire hospital sites.
As part of the team you will be directly involved in the holistic care of patients with gynae cancer, supporting their families and other staff members.
You will be required to offer, set up and complete electronic holistic nursing assessments (eHNA) using the Macmillan My Care Plan tool.
You will therefore need advanced communication skills and an ability to hold complex discussions both virtually and face to face.
You will need to be both self-aware and self-motivated.
Previous experience in cancer nursing is preferable and a knowledge of or an interest in gynae cancer is vital given the remit of the role.
Main duties of the job To work as an integral part of the Gynae-Oncology Nursing team to support adult patients with a Gynaecological cancer diagnosis in Buckinghamshire healthcare NHT trust.
Thefive gynaecological cancers are Ovarian, Uterine, Cervical, Vaginal and Vulval.
The post holder will form part of a wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) providing a service to patients from diagnosis and throughout the course of their disease.
The role requires the ability to make appropriate and comprehensive referrals to ally services such as Specialist Palliative Care, Macmillan Specialist Dieticians and community teams such as District Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
The post holder will act as a primary resource for all patients diagnosed with one of the afore mentioned cancers in the county of Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas.
They will provide a holistic approach to support as per the Personalised Care Agenda using eHNAs and be able to signpost patients to appropriate local services.
They will also provide an essential link between Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Oxfordshire NHS Trust to ensure seamless care for patients receiving care/treatment inboth trusts.

Person Specification EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential First level registration with NMC Teaching Qualification and or substantial teaching experience National Advance Communications Skills Course or willingness to take Evidence of continuous professional development Oncology/Palliative Care cancer qualification/module Desirable Relevant degree in Oncology qualification or qualification relevant to speciality ECDL or similar IT qualification Experience Essential Experience in delivering and evaluating teaching programmes to health care professionals including medical staff.
