Royal Surrey Foundation Trust are working in partnership with Procare Health (a Federation for GP practices in Guildford and Waverley) providing adult community health services.
The Lymphoedema service work very closely with district nurses, GPs, social care, local hospitals, other specialist nurses, therapists and others to help individuals manage their own conditions, maintain their independence and remain at home wherever possible.
Main duties of the job JOB SUMMARY To support and assist in the management of the community Lymphoedema Service for Guildford and Waverley.
To use expert knowledge to diagnosis lymphoedema and chronic oedema, identify underlying cause, implement treatment, follow-up and review treatments, promote self-management regime for patients.
To work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively co-ordinate and deliver a highly specialised service within the field of Lymphoedema.
To support in raising awareness of lymphoedema for all clinical staff.
To support in delivery of training for chronic oedema prevention and management for all clinical staff across the community division.

A video about the Royal Surrey - Job description Job responsibilities An opportunity has arisen for a part time 15 hours per week band 6 lymphoedema nurse in the community lymphoedema team.
This is a permanent position.
The lymphoedema team is a small team of expert physiotherapists and nurses working closely with the tissue viability team, oncology teams, community nurses, practice nurses, other specialist nurses and care homes across the RSFT.
The team provides clinical advice on all lymphoedema and chronic oedema management in the community setting, monitoring and driving down cellulitis incidence across the community division.
The team are based at the Beacon Centre, and provide clinics in Staines, Farnham, Woking and Haslemere, with travel required to other community sites.

For further information please see our website: Lymphodema | Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse Desirable Non-medical prescribing qualification Degree or masters level education To hold a specialist tissue viability or lymphoedema qualification Knowledge Essential Knowledge of tissue viability and/or lymphoedema specialty, acquired through specialist course or equivalent experience.
Wound care including pressure ulcers and leg ulcer expertise.
Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Evidence of courses, conferences, study days.
Be able to demonstrate how this has influenced practice.
Must have an understanding of lymphoedema and it treatments.
Member of Nursing and Midwifery Council and other relevant organizations/professional bodies relevant to the post.
