Job Title: Lunchtime Assistant Location: Southampton Salary: £12.83 per hour Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate/Easter 2025 Do you have a passion for supporting students during their lunchtime activities?
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Lunchtime Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in Southampton .
This is your chance to play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and safe lunchtime experience for our students.
About the Role As a Lunchtime Assistant , you will be responsible for supervising students during their lunch break, ensuring their safety and well-being.
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior and social interaction.
Key Responsibilities of Lunchtime Assistant Supervise students during lunchtime, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Assist students with their lunch, encouraging healthy eating habits and good manners.
Monitor and manage student behavior, promoting positive interactions and resolving conflicts.
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to students' development.
Create a positive and inclusive environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and included.
Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to their diverse needs.
Maintain accurate records of any incidents or concerns and report to teachers and other relevant parties.
Requirements for Lunchtime Assistant Prior experience in a similar role is desirable, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students during lunchtime.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
Relevant qualifications or training in child care or education (desirable but not essential).
To work with us as a Lunchtime Assistant, you will need: Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one.
