As a Customs Logistics Specialist at TJX Europe, you will be part of a team that manages all of the business customs activities in the UK and EU.
The Customs Logistics Specialist will work closely with designated customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely submission of customs entries, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations, audit requirements and promoting best practices in customs processes across the organisation.
In addition to this, you will also act as a point of contact, advising the business on international trade regulations that may impact product sourcing, including potential restrictions and costs.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate with UK and EU customs brokers to ensure products are imported in compliance with regulations.
Oversee the resolution of queries raised by customs brokers and freight forwarders.
Identify and communicate to leadership, emerging customs changes that may impact the business.
Assist in implementing UK/EU customs regulations for controlled goods (food, plastics, etc.
), ensuring a smooth flow of goods to the UK and EU.
Develop solutions for classifying products that fall outside the recognized classification tools.
Apply for Customs Binding Tariff Information (BTI) as required.
Manage TJX duty deferment accounts.
Play a key role in customs-related projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Confidently present complex regulations to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Communicate with and respond to any queries from customs offices.
Maintain an audit program to ensure trade compliance, including customs entry documents, stakeholder KPIs, AEO maintenance, etc.
Own and represent key KPI's and SLA's for designated area of responsibility, ensuring goods are enabled to move in line with lead time expectations.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience Previous experience of UK and EU customs regulations (eg SCDP, RGR, Customs Warehousing, TSS, etc) Strong knowledge and experience of customs classification with a knowledge of Irish customs processes desirable Knowledge of UK/EU preference agreements and associated documentation.
Knowledge of controlled goods regulations would be advantageous.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
Highly focused and accurate with a meticulous eye for detail.
Confident team player who works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
