Job summary We are seeking a highly qualified General Surgical Consultant to join our team on a 1-year fixed term locum basis to cover maternity leave.
The successful candidate will join a team of 4 Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) surgeons at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital (RBH) site and 4 UGI surgeons at the Poole General Hospital (PGH) site.
Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities: Participate in a 1:9 General Surgical Consultant non-resident on-call rota at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site.
Provide elective surgical and endoscopy services across three hospital sites: Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole General Hospital, and Wimborne Community Hospital.
Perform elective operating lists, endoscopy procedures, and outpatient clinics as per the weekly job plan.
Potential for involvement in oesophago-gastric cancer resectional surgery, Bariatric surgery and advanced endoscopic procedures, including robotic surgery.
Proficiently perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and antireflux surgery.

MMR vaccination status ideally known at the time of application.
