Locum Consultant Radiologist: Cross-Sectional & Cancer Imaging

Job summary We are looking to appoint a Specialist Radiologist in Paul Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC).
The PSSC is based at Mount Vernon Hospital and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment: a Dual Source/dual energy CT (Siemens), three MRI scanners ( Siemens), two PET-CT scanners (4 multi-detector PET-CT and a 64 multi-detector PET-CT), and a Sectra PACS/RIS system.
There is an on-site Cyclotron producing PET tracers.
The Scanner Centre is a registered charity (No 298867) and is at the forefront of translational cancer imaging.
Opened in 1985 and a provider of PET CT scans since 1997, PSSC provides cross-sectional imaging services for both oncology patients and the wider community.
There are thriving clinical/research imaging programs supported by knowledgeable and enthusiastic scanning provide a range of opportunities for career progression and encourage CPD, in-house training and further study.
Staff benefit from having NHS contracts and single accommodation is available if required.
Main duties of the job The post holder will supervise, and report investigations performed mainly cross-sectional imaging using CT and MRI.
There are specialty leads for each modality in place.
The post holder with perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT), document the performance, interpretation, or outcomes of all procedures performed, interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems and prepare and present comprehensive interpretive reports of findings, and communicate examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, or families.
The post also provides the opportunity to develop research projects in the Centre.

Ability to prioritise, organize work load and delegate and supervise tasks appropriately.
Evidence of implementing and managing change.
Evidence of previous experience and efficacy in mentorship teaching and assessing.
Ability to analyse, resolve issues and make sound judgements on clinical issues, using initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits.
