Job summary The Department of Plastic, Reconstructive andBurnSurgery are looking to recruit a colleague with an interest in themanagement of the acute burn injury and subsequent reconstruction.
The applicant should also haveand interest in the management of skin cancer.
The successful candidate willjoin our current team of fourteen consultants including five current burnsurgeons.
Main duties of the job Duties will be based at MidYorkshire Hospital Trust The main duties of the posts will include:ElectiveTheatre lists day case surgery will take place on the Pinderfields andPontefract site.
Inpatient and burns/trauma operating we take place on the Pinderfieldssite.Generalon-call duties will be shared between 10 colleagues ( Weekdays -Monday to Thursday 1 in 10Weekends 1 in 18 (with upper limb am support)Burns on call duties will be shared betweencolleagues (ultimately 6) 1 in 6 weekdays and weekends (to coincide with weekend PA activity) Consultant will take part in consultant of the week coveringgeneral trauma 1 in 10 weeksSupporting ProfessionalActivities in accordance with the Trust Framework, with at least a minimum of SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable.Additional SPA or DCC time may be commissioned in line with the skills of thesuccessful candidate and changing requirements of the service.o Examples may include formal teaching responsibilities or departmentalleadership rolesDedicated office space is provided on the Pinderfields site, with accessto IT facilities on peripheral sites.
Administrative support is accessible via the Plastic surgery departmentalsecretaries.

Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastics or within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or CESR / equivalent) by date of interview Burns fellowship Qualifications Essential Medical Degree from recognised medical school FRCA or equivalent Desirable Higher qualifications MD, PhD, MSc, MRCP Audit or Case Presentations Teaching qualification/ prize Experience Essential Sufficient experience at Senior level in to be placed on the Specialist Register.
Computer literate.
Fully accredited by college and acceptable to college representative.
Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in anaesthetics.
Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
