When applying, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate flexible working, so your work life fits around your home life.We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.Click on this link to find out about our values https://www.uhbw.nhs.uk/p/about-us/our-trust-values The adult haemoglobinopathy service at Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC) has expanded in recent years and is the designated Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre (HCC) for sickle cell and Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Team (SHT) for sickle cell, thalassaemia and rare inherited anaemias in the South West Region.The Lead Nurse for the HCC and SHT will ensure the provision and delivery of a high standard of care to patients (children transitioning and adults) with haemoglobinopathies and their families/carers, and will provide professional leadership to multi-professionals working across the network.
The post-holder will work alongside the Haemoglobinopathy Service Manager and Clinical Lead to ensure high quality services across the South West, ensuring patients and their families/carers have equitable access to services throughout the network.
The post holder will be based at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust but may be required to travel to other locations across the network.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of high quality, evidenced-based clinical standards across the South West HCC and SHT.
As a network leader, they will develop productive working relationships and practices across the South West network, working in partnership with other relevant agencies and organisations offering advice and providing support to all centres in the region as well as primary care.
This role will contribute specific haemoglobinopathy clinical nursing expertise to the HCC and SHT team to ensure the provision of high quality nursing care across the region.
The post holder will provide positive communication, sharing of Haemoglobinopathy clinical information (guidelines and policies), and development of training and education across stakeholder organisations in primary, secondary and tertiary care.
The post holder will be a proven nurse leader in the field of haemoglobinopathy and will be proactive in service development and improvement.
They will have a clear vision for the development of paediatric and adult nursing teams to support implementation of haemoglobinopathy standards, across the region.
He/she will be patient focused and have high levels of compassion.
They will be a driving force for service improvement, focused on equity of care and, as a visionary for the Haemoglobinopathy service and will be someone who has (or develops) a national profile in Haemoglobinopathy.
