Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Heart Failure & Devices team at Manchester Royal Infirmary, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a 6 month locum post (with the possibility to extend) to cover one of our consultants who is pursuing research opportunities.As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester, the Trust treats more than a million patients every year.
You will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists at the Manchester Heart Institute.
The Cardiology department is staffed with energetic, forward-looking cardiologists, and we're looking for someone similar to join our team.The role presents an excellent opportunity to showcase your comprehensive understanding of cardiac care, specifically Heart Failure patients and complex devices.
You will be involved in shaping the Heart Failure service for the future, inputting into the development of a business case for expansion of the dedicated Heart Failure workforce comprised of consultants, specialist nurses and allied health professionals.Informal visits are encouraged and we would welcome your interest.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential MB ChB or equivalent MRCP or equivalent On Speciality Register for Cardiology or CCT within 6 months of interview Desirable Additional higher degree (eg.
MD or PhD) in a relevant subject Experience Essential Broad training in general cardiology and extensive training in HF Participation in clinical skills teaching programme Desirable Evidence of research, service development or experience in innovative technology Experience of organising teaching programmes Ability Essential Competent in management of acute and chronic heart failure Ability to integrate within a multidisciplinary team Desirable Competent in another complementary sub-specialty, for example cardiac device implantation and follow-up Audit Essential Commitment to an understanding of the principles of audit Experience in organisation and undertaking audit Desirable Publication of audit and service improvement projects, locally and nationally.
