We are seeking clinicians who can help shape the future of Acute and Same Day Emergency Care pathways contributing to our emerging clinical strategy.We offer: Flexible SPA included in job planningPossible annualised job planningTime for internal and external teachingSupporting your clinical interestsStandard study leave budget of £1000 per yearDedicated office space Main duties of the job Our acute medical services are supported by a co-located Urgent Treatment Centre, NHS 111 walk-in and a Same Day Emergency Care Unit.

The QEQM Hospital Acute Medical unit comprises two short-stay Acute Medical Units (A & B), adjacent to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit.
Our newly built 'Rapid Assessment & Majors' area within the ED footprint serves as an ED - Acute care interface for medical patients, overseen by the ED in-reach Acute physician and Geriatric / Frailty Team.
There will be a contribution to the on-call weekday Rota of approximately 1:10 weekday (Category A = 5%) and moving forward a weekend commitment of around 1 in 18 with zero days off in lieu of working a weekend.

Person Specification Qualifications and training Essential Full GMC Registration MRCP or an equivalent postgraduate qualification Entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), or relevant CESR or European Community Rights, or Consultant experience in Acute/General medicine Desirable Leadership or teaching experience Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, publications Other degrees, , BSc, MSc, MD Skills and experience Essential Broad level of teaching experience and competence in Acute Medicine Minimum of English Level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), IELTS, or graduate of a UK Medical school Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff Ability to take independent responsibility for patients Desirable RCP Specialist Certification in Acute Medicine clinical experience Added skillset in point of care ultrasound, ECHO (FICE) Clinical governance Desirable Evidence of participation in Audit, QIP, and Mortality meetings Other requirements Essential Upholds and models the Trust value the ability to work an on-call commitment and travel across sites.
Desirable Managerial skills or Digital experience to enable innovative clinical pathways (virtual wards)
