The Opportunity ·To assist in the provision of an efficient service to the Council, and to the public on licensing and associated matters.
·To perform a range of technical and professional functions as they relate to the Council's current and future licensing functions.
·To contribute to achieving the Council's corporate objectives and priorities.
·To contribute to the Council's agenda for achieving continuous improvement in service delivery and any external performance assessments.
Accountabilities · To carry out the duties of an authorised officer for the purpose of enforcing licensing conditions.
This may involve making visits to premises and other places outside normal office hours.
It is part of the duties of this post to carry out late night and sometimes weekend visits as part of normal duties.
· To deal with aspects of the Licensing Act 2003, hackney carriage and private hire licensing, Gambling Act 2005, charitable collections as well as boatman licensing and pleasure boat licensing · To ensure the proper processing and determination of applications for various licences, permits, registrations etc., including consultations with appropriate authorities and other officers.
· To deal with aspects of the maintenance of filing relating to all licensing associated functions.
· To provide appropriate reports and attend Licensing committee or sub committees relating to the Council's licensing functions.
· Give evidence before a court arising from prosecutions and appeals relating to the Council's licensing functions.
