Job DescriptionAs a Class 1 Tramper driver, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers throughout the United Kingdom.
Your primary duty will be to operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations.Key responsibilities include:Undertake long-distance driving assignments, requiring a minimum of four nights per week away from base.Maintain a high standard of professionalism while representing DPD during all customer interactions.Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance with driving hours and rest periods.Efficiently manage route planning and navigation to optimise delivery schedules and fuel consumption.Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and safety.Accurately complete all required documentation, including delivery receipts and vehicle logs.Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle's cab and cargo area.Utilise secure company locations for overnight stays, ensuring the safety of both driver and cargo.Demonstrate adaptability in managing varying workloads and potential schedule changes.Uphold DPD's core values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work, and Accountability in all aspects of your work.This role demands a high level of commitment, self-reliance, and professionalism.
