About the role: We are looking for a LGV Driver / Plant Machine Operative to join the team within our Kemsley Paper Mill facility, ensuring all work is completed to a standard set out by our clients with maximum efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities: Follow instructions from the Line Manager and complete tasks efficiently, in compliance with the law and company interests.
Operate machines, equipment, and plant as instructed, following company policies, procedures, and appropriate training.
Transport waste materials from designated areas to specific on-site locations using appropriate vehicles and equipment.
Load materials and waste as directed, ensuring all lorries, bins, and containers are filled promptly while keeping the site clean and tidy.
Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
Perform driver maintenance checks at proper intervals and report any faults in vehicles, equipment, or containers immediately using the approved system.
Report any accidents involving vehicles, equipment, or personnel to the Contract Manager immediately and complete the necessary forms.
Operate roll-on/roll-off vehicles, skip lorries (off-road driving), loading machines (e.g., shovel, telehandler, materials handler), and sweeper vehicles as required.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including regular jet washing, and ensure vehicles are in good condition.
Conduct shift handovers and walk-around checks at the start and end of each shift.
Assist with general site operations and perform basic maintenance duties.
Ensure compliance with all company procedures, including those in the Employment Handbook, H&S Policy, EMS System, IMS System, and any financial/accounting systems.
Always prioritise your own Health and Safety and that of colleagues, ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times in line with the companys Health and Safety Policy.
About you: Essentials: HGV Class 2 licence Experience operating plant machinery, such as telehandlers, loaders, or forklifts.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team.
