Job Description As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide.
This role requires a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include: Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles in accordance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Adhering to agreed shift patterns and ensuring timely arrivals at all designated locations.
Conducting deliveries and collections at HGV-friendly locations, which may involve trailer swaps or overseeing live unloading and reloading processes.
Demonstrating adaptability in meeting individual customer needs and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed and maintained for each journey.
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to guarantee roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
Promptly reporting any vehicle issues or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Strictly adhering to all road traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies regarding safe driving practices.
Participating in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and stay current with industry best practices.
Representing DPD in a professional manner at all times, both on the road and when interacting with customers and colleagues.
Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence Minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required Professional Attributes: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service Proven track record of meeting deadlines and demonstrating flexibility in work assignments Consistent display of professionalism and resourcefulness in all aspects of work Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask and solve complex problems Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols The successful candidate must possess all required qualifications and demonstrate a high level of competence in each of the professional attributes listed.
