We're now looking for an enthusiastic and reliable General Teaching Assistant to join the Year 2 team at one of our schools.

About the Role: As a Year 2 General Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily phonics sessions and assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
You will work closely with both individuals and small groups of students, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the daily teaching of phonics to Year 2 students Support students in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, fostering their development in key areas like literacy and numeracy Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive, stimulating learning environment Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere Take initiative in supporting the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities Demonstrate reliability and a strong commitment to daily attendance Confident working closely with SEN children What We're Looking For: Prior experience working with young children in a classroom setting as General Teaching Assistant (experience in Year 2 and teaching phonics is highly desirable) A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning The ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and reliability Candidate will have a valid DBS on the update system (if not we can assist you!)
