The successful candidate will act as the appointed case progression officer for the criminal prosecution process and be accountable for ensuring the County Council Trading Standards Service delivers enforcement outcomes in alignment with its enforcement policy.The role involves implementing, monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure the Trading Standards Service remains compliant with all relevant criminal procedure and disclosure rules, thereby minimising reputational risk and the cost of legal challenge.As a Legal Process Manager you will be motivated and driven to contribute to the Service and Council strategic outcomes.
About YouTo apply for this post, you must: Be educated to NVQ level 6 in a relevant subject or have equivalent level of relevant experience.
Hold an appropriate trading standards, regulatory compliance or law related qualification commensurate with the purpose and main responsibilities of the position.
Have substantial evidence of continuous professional development to a specialist level in legal process and regulatory compliance or demonstrable evidence of case progression management at both Magistrates' and Crown Court.
Demonstrable evidence of management of cases through the criminal prosecution process and subsequent Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 confiscation proceedings.
Indepth knowledge of the criminal justice system and legislation enforced by Trading Standards including application of relevant case law.
Specialist knowledge of legal affairs, in particular, criminal procedure rules, disclosure, information sharing protocols and the judicial processes in both the magistrates' and crown courts.
Able to work under pressure, managing several cases simultaneously, prioritising work and managing case progression deadlines.
