The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Director specialising in commercial contracts, data protection and technology law.
Working on a subscription basis, you will act as an extension of our clients' legal teams or as their sole legal counsel, whilst also managing our team of exceptional Senior Legal Counsels and our legal community.

Key Responsibilities Legal: • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of complex commercial contracts, including contracts for IT/tech solutions, IP licensing and exploitation, outsourcing agreements (including critical outsourcing in the context of financial services) and master services agreements for a wide range of clients on both the supplier and buyer side.
• Advising on data protection compliance and reviewing data protection policies and processing agreements.
• Providing general advice to our clients on a wide range of business-related matters, including product launches, legal ops and procurement.
• Providing training to clients (legal teams and the wider client business) on legal and operational matters.
Leadership / Operational: • Working closely with the Founder & CEO, continuously look for ways in which we can improve what we do.
• Managing and supervising the legal work of a team of 3 Senior Legal Counsels (and more as we grow).
• Working alongside our Client Services team to ensure that all client work is delivered at the right time, by the right person and is of the high quality it needs to be.
• Being the primary point of contact for clients in the event of any issues.
• Holding regular feedback and review meetings with our clients and implementing the feedback provided.
Marketing / Community Management: • Managing our Watering Hole community for in-house lawyers, including increasing our membership base and overseeing all communications with our members.
• Working with our Client Services Manager to organise and host fortnightly webinars for our community.
• Liaising with the team to create relevant and insightful content for our community.
Who You Are You are a UK-qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial experience across both in-house and private practice settings.
You excel in commercial, technology, and data protection-related matters and possess the following attributes: • Autonomous and efficient, with strong collaboration skills.
• Excellent technical drafting abilities.
• A track record of exceeding client and colleague expectations.
• Proven experience in negotiating contracts.
• Capable of providing legal advice within a broader commercial context, understanding clients' strategic business needs and objectives.
• Skilled in building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Able to deliver decisive, accurate, risk-based and jargon-free legal advice.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Eager to push boundaries, innovate industries, and continuously challenge yourself and others.
Experience and Qualifications • Minimum of 8 years' PQE, although candidates with slightly less experience who meet the other criteria are encouraged to apply.

Salary Band • Legal Director: £95,000 - £110,000 Requirements • You must be able to demonstrate your ability to live and work in the UK.
• You must be a UK qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
