Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join our team in Cardiff, working within a school setting.
This role involves supporting students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and other additional learning needs.

What You'll Do 1:1 and Group Support: Provide tailored assistance to students with complex needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop key life skills.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Specialist Interventions: Assist with sensory activities, speech and language strategies, and emotional regulation techniques.
Care Responsibilities: Support with personal care and mobility needs where required (e.g., toileting, feeding, or using mobility aids).
Promote Independence: Encourage students to achieve their potential through patience and positive reinforcement.
Create a Safe Space: Help foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued.
What We're Looking For Essential Skills and Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs or disabilities, either in education or care.
A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with staff and families.
Willingness to assist with personal care needs when required.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply with our support).
Registration to the Education Workforce Council(EWC) Desirable Qualities: Previous experience in a similar role, such as Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Care Worker.
Training or knowledge in areas such as Makaton, PECS, or manual handling.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health and social care.
