Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location: South Tyneside Contract type: Long term Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in South Tyneside.
This school offers a supportive and educational environment for pupils aged 2-19.
Many pupils within this school have complex or profound needs with the majority having severe learning difficulties.
Therefore, experience in a similar setting is essential for this role.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30-16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will: Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
Have experience working with SEND or vulnerable groups.
Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
