Responsibilities As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with special educational needs (SEN) and those who may need extra support in their learning.
Your key responsibilities will include: Supporting students across the curriculum, both in and outside the classroom.
Working 1:1 with students or in small groups to provide targeted assistance.
Helping students to overcome barriers to learning and promoting inclusion.
Assisting teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Encouraging students' confidence, motivation, and independence.
Collaborating with teachers and SEN staff to monitor student progress.
Creating a positive learning environment and ensuring students are engaged.
Helping with administrative tasks related to SEN provision when required.
Requirements We are looking for candidates who have a passion for supporting students and a desire to make a real difference in young people's lives.
The ideal candidate will: Have previous experience working with secondary-aged students or children with SEN (desired but not essential).
Be patient, empathetic, and committed to fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be able to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and positive way.
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or be willing to work towards one.
Be adaptable and able to work under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff.
