Location: Wimborne Contract Type: Full-time, with the potential for a permanent position Start Date: February Half Term 2025 Teaching Personnel, the UK's leading education staffing supplier, is currently sourcing Learning Support Assistants for Secondary Schools in the Wimborne area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a temp-to-perm basis, where you'll have the chance to secure a permanent position after 12–16 weeks, subject to mutual agreement.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will: Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and classroom setups.
Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping with their learning and development.
Monitor, record, and report on students' progress.
Provide care for children who may be upset or unwell.
Occasionally lead classes under the guidance of a teacher.
What We're Looking For: Experience: Prior experience in a school or working with children/young adults is an advantage.
Attitude: Friendly, confident, calm, and adaptable, especially when working with children from vulnerable backgrounds.
Knowledge: Familiarity with safeguarding and "Keeping Children Safe in Education" guidelines.
Passion: A strong commitment to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Skills: A calming presence and the ability to engage effectively with pupils (Years 7–11).
Values: Dedication to contributing to the ethos and development of the school.
