Learning Support Assistant Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire Start Date: January 2025 Salary: £83 - £100 per day Contract Type: Full-Time GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to work at a Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire , starting in January 2025 .

They pride ourselves on delivering tailored education that meets the unique needs of each student, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities: Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, speech, language, and communication needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students with SEN.
Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on individual learning goals and progress.
Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them to build confidence and resilience in a higher education setting. Assist in delivering tailored interventions and classroom activities.
Support students' personal care needs when required, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
Learning Support Assistant Requirements: Relevant qualifications in Education, Teaching and Learning, Psychology, Social work, or a related field is essential.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable A solid understanding of various SEN conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
Knowledge of strategies to support SEN learners Be compassionate, caring, and have a genuine desire to help overcome students' barriers.
Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
