Trans4m Leicester CIC is anestablished training centre located on the edge of the City centre of Leicester.
Wedeliver a range of vocational courses in Construction, Hair & Beauty, Health & Social Care and Pathways in our well resourced and specialised workshops, we offer courses from Entry level to level 2 in various subjects to students usually from the ages of 14 - 19 or up to 24 if they have an "Educational Health Care Plan" (EHCP) in place.
We also teach maths, English,ICT and digital skills.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds many from disadvantaged groups which include looked after children, young parents and carers, gypsies and travellers, youthoffenders, students with learning disabilities, mental health illness, care leavers and homeless young people.
We offer a supportive and sheltered environment where students engage and flourish gaining in both academic abilities and personal and social skills to enable them to progress positively and become an economically active member of society.
We are now looking to recruit a Student Support Keyworker to join our team.
General Information Type of Appointment: Term-time only - Permanent / Temporary / Sessional DBS disclosure level: Enhanced Job Outline and Purpose To provide learning support to student/s (16-24) with special educational need disabilities (SEND) To assist in the programme being a positive impact on the young persons development, ensuring students engage and experience a differentiated learning programme to support their needs to enable them to achieve their goals To provide Information, Advice and Guidance and to support participants to overcome and remove barriers to further education, employment or training To support participants to progress into sustainable further education, employment or training Person Specification Qualifications Minimum level 2 or GCSE 9-4 in Maths and English Level 3 supporting teaching and learning Level 2 safeguarding Knowledge & Experience Working with individuals who may experience emotional and behavioral difficulties Supporting individuals with learning difficulties Understanding of the SEND code of practice Understanding of the EHCP review process Competent in use of IT To devise individual support plans To support young people in an educational setting to retain their attention during sessions Abilities To work one-to-one and set challenging targets Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills Be able to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team To persuade and influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behavior To work well under pressure To work to targets and deadlines Highly motivated Innovative and solution focused To remain positive, with a bubbly, engaging personality Excellent organization skills and ability to work on own initiative To meet targets and provide a quality service to all stakeholders To discuss British Values and embed into support sessions TPBN1_UKTJ
