Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location: Christchurch Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in Christchurch!
About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant , you will play a vital role in supporting students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students to tailor educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to help them understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).
To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Assistant , you will need: Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the Updated Service.
