Contract overview Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers.
The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Learning Design Consultant for an initial 6-month contract worked on a hybrid basis.
Office attendance is 2-3 days/week in either Manchester OR Edinburgh, per candidate preference.
The project: A fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Learning Design Consultant to join a greenfield project at a major retail bank on a brand-new venture to design a learning pathway around Customer Exiting.
You will work as part of a small team on the end-to-end build of a new bank-wide capability that will enable departments to make more consistent and fair decisions around customer exiting.
Existing departmental training exists that is in pockets across the bank; this training would be bank-wide and enable anyone at the organisation to follow a clear learning pathway around this topic.
They aim to have learner journey pathways established by the end of 2025 and as such there is quite good scope for extension of contract.
Responsibilities of the role: Create and develop high-quality learning content for a bank-wide training initiative.
Design and write comprehensive learning materials to support the development of a consistent and fair approach to customer exiting in a retail banking environment.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the learning materials align with the project's goals and objectives.
Develop content that supports the end-to-end build of a structured learning pathway.
Focus on the learner's journey, creating an engaging, clear, and creative pathway for employees across the bank.
Ensure content is suitable for diverse departments, breaking down complex concepts into accessible learning resources.
Work within a small team to deliver innovative solutions for this greenfield project.
Adapt content to align with the timeline, aiming for project completion by the end of 2025.
What we require from the candidate: Proven experience in designing and developing learning materials, particularly for large-scale projects.
Strong creative and content-oriented skills, with the ability to craft engaging and learner-focused content.
Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and impactful learning materials that are aligned with project objectives and governance standards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently within a small team, taking ownership of projects and delivering high-quality content on time.
Strong attention to detail, especially when working within regulated environments, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all learning materials.
Understanding of adult learning principles and learner journey design, with a focus on creating compelling, impactful, and accessible content.
High level of proficiency in using key tools for content creation and learning design.
The tools in use at the bank are: Vyond, Canva, Articulate, Shutterstock, Intralinks, and Synthesia - experience in at least 2-3 of these would be desirable.
Previous experience in regulated industries (e.g, banking or finance) is highly desirable, but not essential.
