Job Title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon Salary: Starting at £70,000 per annum (FTE), depending on experience Location: Northeast London Job Type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, with a set day off each week.
Part-time applications welcome.
Schedule: 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota (alternating between a full and half day).
No nights, no on-call, and no Sundays.
  Overview: This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to head a collaborative team of 4-5 vets at a well-equipped hospital in Northeast London.
The role combines leadership with clinical responsibilities, focusing on high-quality patient care and strong client relationships.

About the Role: The hospital houses a team of experienced clinicians who are encouraged to develop their own specialties and interests.
Emphasis is placed on retaining complex cases and fostering client bonds, with regular collaboration with visiting specialists in ultrasonography, orthopaedics, and soft tissue surgery, enabling consistent in-house case continuity.
Responsibilities: Lead a multi-vet team alongside the Clinical Director, upholding high clinical standards.
Balance general practice consultation and surgery days with a protected weekly admin day.
Conduct thorough assessments of cases and develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
Mentor and support junior staff while working collaboratively within the team.
Ensure all treatments align with established protocols.
Ideal Candidate Profile: The role is suited to an experienced veterinary surgeon with a passion for collaboration, strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to take on a leadership role.
