Location: London PURPOSE OF ROLE Lawes are partnering with a top-tier insurance firm, seeking a Lead Trading Underwriter to join one of their specialist underwriting teams. You'll drive profitable growth, primarily Mid-Market, in the real estate segment.
RESPONSIBILITIES Profitably and consistently underwrite both new and existing businessBuild and maintain strong trading relationships with a panel of brokersGenerate profitable business from the assigned broker panelLead meetings, presentations, and tender responses with brokers and clientsMentor, train, and develop Senior UnderwritersServe as the referral point for Senior Underwriters within the teamOversee and review underwriting standards and licensing within the teamChampion and implement the business strategy and product offeringsEXPERIENCE Extensive London Market property/real estate underwriting experienceStrong negotiation and sales expertiseProven experience in managing large cases and portfolios within the real estate sectorFamiliarity with key stakeholders in the London Market real estate industryWell-developed networking and relationship-building abilitiesIn-depth understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in insuranceExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to thrive in a target-oriented environment
