I'm currently working with a well-established Engineering Consultancy in the Bristol area who are looking for a Lead Java Software Engineer to join their growing team.
The company have been going for over 17 years and provide solutions & products to a variety of different industries across the UK and US markets, tasked with modernizing software environments and enhancing the consumer experience for many of their clients.
They are looking to grow the team with new hires across their development team with big plans for 2025.
The role will initially be quite hands on as you get up to speed with the team and their technologies but will revert to a rough 50/50 split between leading and coding thereafter.

Work mostly within the UK market but have an expanding presence in the US.
Operate across a variety of industries within the Engineering space.

The Role – Senior Java Developer Bristol area – 3 times a week in the office.
Leading a small sub team of 4-5.
Total development team is roughly 12 with plans to grow.
Develop applications for new greenfield enterprise projects mainly in Java.
Maintain and upgrade existing products whilst also developing Cloud based apps.
Lead from technical standpoint and still be very much hands on.
Support with managerial tasks such as code reviews, coaching, training.
Tech Requirements £65,000-£75,000.
Essential Skills : Java, Spring, APIs, SQL, Unit Testing.
Bonus Skills : Azure, JavaScript, CI/CD pipelines, GraphQL.
Have experience either as an official lead but would consider mentoring experience.
Good stakeholder management skills to take down requirements when needed.
