Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer to work for one of our clients based in Warrington, UK.You will require 'Right to Work' in UK, unfortunately no sponsorship will be available for this role.We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities; specialising in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.This commitment is delivered by an experienced and highly competent workforce of over 4,500 employees operating from 14 offices in strategic industrial hubs, upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance and quality.The RoleTogether with your team of engineers and designers you are responsible for the Mechanical and Piping (M&P) design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projectsYou will be capable of acting as the technical authority for the M&P discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business targetsProject predominantly reside in the UK, but you will be expected to carry out projects for Europe and potentially wider areas of the business areasThese projects will range across the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, in both green and brownfield applicationsThe projects will vary in complexity and size, delivered for all the major sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Food)You are responsible to manage and complete the M&P engineering and design within budget and planning.
This includes change control and consistency of the M&P engineering and design with the other disciplinesYou shall be able to be client facing and manage the expectations of the client in relation to the project scopeYou are responsible for the quality of the M&P engineering and designYou will participate in internal and external design reviews and you are responsible for the design acceptance by the clientDepending on size and complexity you may be Lead Engineer M&P for one project, or for a portfolio of projectsMake independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within M&P EngineeringYou shall be able to lead projects in a multi-discipline environment and be capable or coordinating all M&P engineering and design, with the other disciplines, EC&I, Civil and Structural, Process and AutomationYou shall be able to effectively carry out, check and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control and report all costs on allocated projects in terms of progress, scope change and man hourYour profileIf you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting youMore than 5 years of experience as Lead Engineer M&P, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in one of the above mentioned sectorsExperience of acting as a technical authority or line manager for an engineering organisationDeep knowledge of M&P engineering and design, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, EC&I and Process)MEng / BEng in Mechanical EngineeringChartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)Experienced with the production of mechanical specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings and schedulesExperience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standardsYou are able to develop piping systems complying with PED requirementsResult oriented.
You are only satisfied after your design is accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied with the performance of you and your teamYou plan and organise your activities before you allow your team to start spending hours.
You understand the dependencies of the engineering activities within the M&P discipline, but also the dependencies between M&P and the other disciplines.
You have a 'one time right' mentalityHave an appreciation with the main M&P design packages including, AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar IIYou are capable of identifying growth within the company with support to sales, business management, company procedures and strategiesYou delegate to your team, but at the same time you know exactly what is going on in your M&P discipline, and intervene if requiredYou implement a solid change control procedure for your team, and you can convince the client of the budget and planning consequences of changesYou can lead and motivate your team so that they achieve the targets, also in case of setbacksYou are able to chair design review meetingsYou have pleasure in teaching and coaching the young generation M&P engineers and designersThis vacancy is being advertised by Belcan.
