We will pay between £ and £ per hour if you fit the bill (with a review due in April 2025).Due to organisational changes, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic practice nurse to join our friendly and supportive clinicians, leading and developing a dedicated and experienced nursing team comprising of two practice nurses, one HCA and two phlebotomists.
The Lead Practice Nurse, working closely with management and partners, will ensure that safe, effective, high quality patient care is provided while striving for clinical excellence.
An interview with us would provide a great opportunity to openly discuss your career aspirations and you will have a chance to see how they would fit our surgery ethos and patients needs.The ideal candidate will:Be a registered nurse with current NMC registration Ideally have at least two to four years experience working in primary care Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Have a passion for developing others while leading a happy and content workforce Have proven leadership experience and, ideally, management experience within primary care Be experienced in a variety of long-term conditions (, asthma, COPD, SMI, Diabetes) Main duties of the job Ideally we need someone to work full-time across five days, although a part-time job sharing arrangement may be possible for the right candidate.
During this time you will;Lead the nursing team in meeting practice objectives by ensuring effective staffing levels, maintaining clinical nursing standards, while supervising and developing the team to their full potential.Support the management team with the implementation of new services and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient careAct as Practice Infection Prevention Control LeadBe responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice's MDT who provide care within their scope of practice to the regsitarered population.Be responsible for, and assist with the delivery of, all clinical services including health promotion, chronic disease management and health prevention, as well as supporting the partners and managers in the creation and review of clinical policies and procedures.
About us Although Warmdene Surgery is a relatively small, established practice with four GP partners and one salaried GP, we positively support approximately 9500 patients.
We regularly achieve excellent QOF results and our patient feedback is very positive.

Positive staff and team wellbeing supports our business ethos and the work life balance of all staff.The GPs and nurses are supported clinically by two clinical pharmacists, a first contact physiotherapist and a social prescriber, and administratively by a strong administration team led by our Assistant Practice Manager.
We also support medical students in training.Warmdene Surgery is situated just two minutes off the main A27, offering bright and modern facilities with free non-permit road parking and good access to public transport.
Some large food and retail stores are nearby.The surgery is part of Preston Park Community PCN which remains at the forefront of developments in Brighton, allowing our team to share ideas with clinical peers and to develop best practice, whilst working collaboratively to provide a wider range of clinical services to our patients.

Person Specification Experience Essential These include (see attachment for full details), but are not limited to: IT Literate including Outlook, Word and Excel, plus working knowledge of EMIS (or other clinical system) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) being able to deal with members of staff and patients politely and confidently Sound organisational and leadership skills, effective time management and being able to self manage Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities and where appropriate make critical decisions Attention to detail, maintaining accurate records as required Knowledge of clinical governance Knowledge of QOF Knowledge of health promotion strategies Knowledge of local and national health policy Knowledge of infection control requirements in primary care Desirable Experience with audits and clinical risk management Qualifications Essential Registered nurse Desirable Postgraduate diploma or degree (Primary Care)
