We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Lead Health & Safety Advisor to join our Anglian Water contract team.
You will be working as part of the alliance to lead Health, Safety & Welfare strategy and ensure delivery is monitored, managed and assured.
The Role We need your help to inspire and help our busy operational teams execute their work consistently, using "best in class" health and safety practices.
We'll leave you to decide how best to do this, although we know that you won't be standing on the side-lines holding a clipboard and grimacing.
We'll support and encourage your naturally inquisitive nature as you seek to understand the operational challenges your colleagues face on site.
We'll be looking for practical H&S solutions and helpful advice delivered in a style that motivates your audience.
We'll encourage you to create communications strategies which resonate and inspire.
If you enjoy operating in a fast-paced and sometimes transient working environment, which is not restricted to a single or enclosed site, then here are just some of the activities you'll be getting involved with: Managing and executing site inspections Advising on and setting Operational team safety objectives Supporting and undertaking investigations into accidents and incidents Assessing external environments for safe working Identifying any gaps in the H&S management system; recommending improvements Developing and implementing new initiatives or sharing best practice with colleagues Advising on and communicating new working practices in line with any new legislative requirements or best practice Carrying out ABC tours (Attitude, Behaviours and Culture) Actively encouraging Safety Observations and Hazard Reporting We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate … Exceptional communications skills and originality as well as H&S expertise are all essential for success in this role.
We'll be looking for you to demonstrate an innovative approach to H&S problem solving, along with significant experience in a H&S advisory role, underpinned by a thorough understanding of current HSE legislation.
A NEBOSH Construction Certification or equivalent i.e., HNC in Construction as a minimum and a Chartered IOSH Membership or actively working towards.
Relevant industry experience would be highly advantageous.
A full UK Driving licence is also required.
