Lead Estimator

Our client is a privately owned highways contractor with an enviable reputation for exceptional customer service and delivery.
The board prioritises health & safety and people and this tends to span across customers and the care of staff within the group and so although a busy environment , it is an enjoyable place to work.
The group has been particularly successful in the last five years, having achieved double digit growth both in terms of revenue and profitability.
As many of their contracts are longer term; between 5 and 12 years, it is important that they are priced correctly with the appropriate risk and commercial strategies employed.
The new Lead Estimator will be responsible for working on the larger highways and civils maintenance contracts which are often complex with many moving parts so it is a balance between being accurate with pricing and at the same time commercial in order to win the business.
As well as being hands-on, the Lead Estimator will act as a mentor with the less experienced members of the team so they can be developed to work across many divisions of the group.
To be successful in this role, you will have a good amount of professional experience within civils or highways contracts in England and Wales and understand the need to be accurate when pricing and manage risk for the business.
In return, you will report straight in to the Managing Director of the group and receive a huge amount of autonomy to develop the estimating function as you see fit.
