Job Description Summary We are seeking an Electrical and Electronics Engineer to work in our aerospace Advanced Technology Organisation (ATO).
You will play a significant role in defining the next generation of products for the business.
You will be expected to define the hardware scope and functionality of our new products, work with the project team through the concept development and prototype design phases, and support transition into production, applying theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills.

A minimum of two years' post-graduate experience is required.
We are looking for a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer/technician, with experience in a relevant setting, to support the safe demonstration, testing and verification of engineering prototypes in the advanced technology labs and further afield in customer labs.

This is a multi-faceted role with a high degree of autonomy but the core competencies that we are looking for are around design, analysis, requirements managing, and testing for power electronics hardware in an R&D setting.
The role includes regular collaboration with systems engineering, embedded software development, mechanical design, and testing functions.

Roles and Responsibilities Develop product hardware concepts and requirements with consideration to the system requirements.
Design prototype product hardware architecture in collaboration with the systems, software, mechanical and tools teams.
Have, or be prepared to develop, a deep understanding of aircraft electrical power and avionics systems including electric and hybrid vehicles.
Work with our customers to develop concepts for their new aircraft.
Safely perform functional, EMC and environmental testing on prototype equipment to relevant requirements and identify shortfalls or faults.
The role is likely to require local and international travel.
Required Qualifications Experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer in the aerospace, automotive or industrial sectors.
Good understanding of electrical power systems, Experience of industry-standard tools equivalent to DOORS, SIMetrics simulation and Mentor Graphic schematic capture and PCB layout.
Experience of safe working in Lab Environments (ideally High Voltage).
Familiarity with lab test equipment and measurement techniques (DMM, Scopes, PSUs, Load Banks).

Experience of the design and development of safety critical equipment Exceptional design skills with the ability to resolve multi variable, multi domain trade studies to optimize designs.
Strong analogue electronics design experience.
Working knowledge of model-based development.
Working knowledge of aerospace development standards DO-254, DO160.
