Our Lead DevOps Engineers lead and set the strategy as well as build our products and applications - with researchers, testers, architects, analysts and designers - as part of multi-functional agile delivery teams.

You will be a leader in our team, you will coach and mentor DevOps Engineers.

Person specification When giving details in your CV you should highlight your experience in line with essential criteria below: Significant Demonstrable experience of leading teams in a DevOps environment Continuous Integration & Deployment, Delivery methods and techniques, including agile.
Significant Experience of working and leading in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific timescales and engaging with multiple Stakeholders.
Significant demonstrable experience of designing, implementing and supporting Unix/Linux based platforms and using developing solutions using scripting languages.
Significant Unix/Linux in a support and/or Demonstrable experience of using development environment including scripting languages.
Significant Demonstrable experience of developing and supporting cloud-based applications in AWS (AWS and/or Azure) Dynatrace and implementing dashboards and alerting mechanisms.
Significant demonstrable knowledge of implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Gitlab CI.
Significant Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing best practices using IaC tools such as Terraform, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus & Grafana.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.
This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.
The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.

Salary Information Pay for this role in London is from 78,843 to 83,957.
The maximum salary for the grade is 83,957 however a Digital Allowance of up to 6,038 per annum is available for exceptional candidates.
Digital Allowance is non-salary, and non-pensionable, and is classed as a temporary allowance.
It is reviewed annually where it could be retained, amended, or removed.
Pay for this role in National locations is from 72,664 to 77,740.
The maximum salary for the grade is 77,740, however a Digital Allowance of up to 12,255 per annum is available for exceptional candidates.
Digital Allowance is non-salary, and non-pensionable, and is classed as a temporary allowance.
It is reviewed annually where it could be retained, amended, or removed.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
