Job summary We are seeking an experienced principal clinical psychologist with expertise in neuropsychology to lead the neuropsychology pathway in community mental health services across Bradford and Craven.
The successful postholder will join a diverse and supportive team across the network.
Closing Date 29th December 2024 Shortlisting Date: WC 30th December 2024 Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be experienced working with adults with complex mental health needs and familiar with working through a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens to understand what has happened to people and ways to alleviate their distress.
The neuropsychology pathway lead role oversees the assistant psychologist in the teams delivering Cognitive Remediation Therapy as well as providing consultation, specialist assessment, support, training, formulation, reflective space and leadership with the wider clinical team and their own clinical work.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence.
Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status.
Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Neuropsychology Desirable Masters in Clinical Neuropsychology Leadership training.
Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience.
Training in trauma informed care.
Training in advanced clinical supervision Training Essential Evidence of continuing professional development Experience Essential Significant experience in relevant area of mental health practise.
Application of evidenced based specialist psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
Experience of working within a multicultural framework Significant post qualification experience and training.
Involvement in innovative clinical practice.
Clinical leadership experience Desirable Leadership of clinical research programmes.
Publication of research relevant to psychological therapy.
Experience of leading or participating in regular reflective practice around themes such as anti-racism in therapy, power in mental health, the impact of health inequality and cultural curiosity.
Experience working within a trauma informed framework.
Leading innovative clinical practice.
Knowledge Essential Significant clinical knowledge relevant to a specific clinical pathway(s).
Evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
Relevant specialist clinical courses/training Doctoral / master's level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis Able to contain explore and formulate an understanding of high levels of distress both directly with patients and indirectly via supervision or case reviews with other staff Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Highly specialist clinical knowledge relevant to a clinical pathway Highly specialist clinical knowledge relevant to a therapeutic modality.
Knowledge and understanding of wider cultural and religious models of mental health for example Islamic psychology, British South Asian communities, Roma communities or beliefs around Black Magic Fluency in one of Bradford's community languages ( Urdu, Punjabi, Slovak or Polish) Attitude/approach Essential Commitment to ethos of the clinical service and MDT working.
Commitment to working creatively and flexibly to provide psychological therapy to individuals, their families and systems from all walks of life and reducing inequalities in access to and outcomes from psychological therapy for marginalised communities.
Willingness to undergo professional development and appraisal Ability to relate to supervisors in a positive mature way.
Aware of racial, culture, sexuality, neurodiversity and gender issues and their impact on mental health and in therapy Openness to working with diversity and difference and addressing issues such as power and safety in the therapeutic relationship and in teams Trustworthy, honest, reliable, adaptable, conscientious, tolerant, enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable/flexible approach Warm, friendly approachable manner
