Lead Azure Platform Engineer

Working fully remote (UK Based) a skilled Lead Azure Platform Engineer is required to guide DevOps practices, working across multiple engineering teams to design, implement, and optimise the cloud architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
In this leadership role, you'll provide strategic direction, serve as a technical mentor, and act as the design authority on key initiatives, ensuring the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
You will be expected to Set the strategic vision for Azure DevOps practices across engineering squads.
Design, implement, and maintain cloud architectures in Microsoft Azure.
Guide and mentor engineering teams, promoting collaboration and innovation.
Align all DevOps projects with company goals and industry best practices.
Standardise and share DevOps knowledge across teams, fostering continuous improvement and automation.
The Lead Azure DevOps Engineer must boast 8+ years in DevOps, with 5+ years focused on Azure.
Expertise with Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure DNS, App Services, Blob Storage).
Proficiency with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform), CI/CD, and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) and excellent networking knowledge.
Experience in monitoring, logging, and application performance tools.
Familiarity with common programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Go).
Experience in vulnerability management and cyber security.
Knowledge of data engineering and single sign-on tools.
