We are looking for an experienced Laminator to join our Composite Team here at Williams Racing working on nightshift.
Would you like to play a vital role in a team which contributes to the race car components?
Working in the Composites Department this role will ensure high quality components and other composite assemblies are produced in the most efficient, cost-effective way whilst keeping lead-times to a minimum.
As a Laminator, your main responsibilities will be: Using pre impregnated tooling fabric to laminate moulds directly from patterns ensuring Technical Procedures/QA documentation/Work Orders and sign offs are adhered to.
Actively engage with the Component Faults system (MPI).
Using Vacuum bagging techniques to debulk.
Positioning of drill bushes in the mould laminate Parting of Mould from Patterns and preparing the tool pre and post cure Laminating components using pre-impregnated carbon with various weave styles and impregnated with epoxy resin systems ensuring Technical Procedures/QA documentation/Work Orders and sign offs are adhered to.
Reading and understanding engineering drawings and Ply Books Utilising the Company CAD System to extract relevant information.
Making Templates to enable repeatability.
Using Honeycomb as a sandwich core material either templating from a drawing or using pre machined core.
De-moulding and drilling off of cured components from moulds in advance of next process Make sure all paperwork is correct and completed at all times before starting the next operation.
We are looking for a Laminator with the following skills and experience: Minimum of five years' experience as a Laminator within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working within the motorsport, automotive and aerospace industry is essential.
Operationally you will ideally have experience with mould making, component manufacture and vacuum bagging.
Good level of knowledge around manufacturing technology relating to composite components.
Ability to keep accurate data within the business MRP software.
Good problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail and a can-do attitude A team player, with a collaborative approach, and good communication and organisational skills.
Demonstrate initiative, be adaptable, along with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
