Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Management Team We are at the centre of the rapidly growing cell and gene therapy sector. We deliver life-changing therapies to patients, and so can you.
We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Management Team (LMT). The purpose of the role is to carry out routine tasks to aid and support the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the non-GXP laboratory including waste management, stock control, reagent preparation, and cleaning.
Your responsibilities in this role would be:
Oversee, maintain and ensure quality of key stock consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists to ensure work activities are maintained. Clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and facilities according to schedule. Ensure OXB laboratory waste management systems are adhered to (including autoclave use and waste disposal). Ensure equipment is serviced, calibrated, and fit for purpose. Raise new asset request numbers and prepare asset relocation and disposal forms for laboratory equipment, chaperone engineers. Maintain documentation - populated, QC checked, and appropriately filed in accordance with local rules. Excellent communication liaising with teams/departments and externally. Assist in maintaining health and safety compliance as applicable. We are looking for:
Educated to a Diploma level in a science subject or equivalent, but a minimum educated to GCSE A level (in a science subject) or equivalent qualification level or experience gained within a similar workplace and position. Computer skills essential with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
