Job Title:Laboratory Quality Manager Reporting To: Senior Quality Assurance Lead Location: Belfast Salary: £ DOE Job Purpose: Tobe an integral member and significant contributor to ARCs Laboratory and Quality teams, ensuring internal and external stakeholder satisfaction as well as offering an innate work ethic that aligns with the companys core values.
Key Responsibilities: Day-to-Day management of the lab quality function.
Develop, manage and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting documentation to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laboratory requirements.
Operate an effective Quality Control system for the laboratory, and ensure that all documents are referred in timely fashion in line with QMS.
To oversee an internal audit process for the laboratory, ensuring that any adverse findings are quickly and appropriately addressed.
To ensure that all relevant SOPs and other relevant procedures are in place and routinely reviewed, and that all relevant staff are appropriately trained on them.
To be an active member of the wider ARC Quality team, and to ensure all quality issues are communicated effectively both within the Quality department and the wider ARC Laboratory team.
To oversee external inspections, liaising with accreditation bodies and ensuring completion of required corrective actions based on findings reported.
To investigate any laboratory-related service complaints, Lab Incidents and non-conformances, ensuring timely completion of required follow-up CAPA actions.
Supplier Management Ensure all suppliers are onboarded, evaluated and monitored effectively.
Ensure all lab records, logbooks and documentation are completed accurately, legibly and contemporaneously.
Responsibility for measuring performance of the Quality System and providing KPI metrics for monthly management review meetings and at other frequencies as defined in the relevant quality system procedures.
Essential Criteria Bachelors degree in biomedical sciences , other related scientific subjects or other quality-relevant subject.
Minimum of 5+ years experience in a UKAS (or similar) regulated laboratory, ideally within a commercial setting.
Expertise in achieving and maintaining ISO17025 accreditation.
Demonstrable understanding and experience with key quality assurance activities, including Audits, non-conformances and CAPAs.
Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable delivering training and providing key quality updates to a cross-functional team.
Able to work flexibly as required to ensure business needs are met.
Proof of Right-to-Work in the UK.
Must be able to commute daily to Belfast as job is on-site.
Desirable Criteria MSc/PhD in Biological Sciences, other related scientific subjects or other quality-relevant subject.
Experience of CAP CLIA accreditation.
