CTS and our range of independent UKAS accredited laboratories provide on-site testing and laboratory services to the construction, quarry products and civil engineering industries across the whole of the UK.
Our purpose-built laboratories are fully equipped to test the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of soils, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials as well as other construction materials and products.  Our highly-trained technicians and engineers either visit sites and take representative samples for subsequent laboratory testing, or conduct in-situ field tests.      Laboratory Technician Location: Harrietsham We are looking for a versatile Laboratory Technician to join our team in Harrietsham.
The role will encompass a diverse range of Laboratory responsibilities, including general lab administration, a variety of different Lab tests and various other daily laboratory duties.
Whilst previous experience working within a Laboratory environment is preferable, it is not essential as we are looking for a keen team player who can learn on the job.
Important data entry will be a fundamental part of this role, so a keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential.
Core responsibilities: Data entry of important test results Following stringent quality procedures to perform testing Carrying out various soil and concrete tests throughout the lab Liaise with the quality department to book in calibration or report equipment failure Maintain good laboratory practice, maintenance of laboratory equipment and safe working procedures.
Always maintain good housekeeping standards.
Keeping all areas clean, tidy, and free from obstruction and hazards.
Any other tasks assigned by your senior or lab manager Assist with UKAS Audits Having the ability to work as part of a team and the initiative to be able to work solely.
To Ensure the current turnaround times for in house testing are being met.
Experience / Skills: Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
Experience in construction laboratory testing is advantageous.
IT literate.
