Salary up to £29k Based in Lytham - onsite Role Overview: This is a unique opportunity for an analyst to work within the nutritional and pharmaceutical sector in a GMP laboratory-based role.
The main focus will be to provide basic analytical services to our customers through Quality Control testing and non-routine analysis.
You'll also aid the Laboratory Manager in organizing and filing laboratory records and documents.
What You'll Be Doing: Analytical Testing: Perform QC analysis of raw materials (dry and wet) and finished products using methodologies such as USP, Ph Eur, or AOAC.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and validity of tests and assist in investigating quality issues.
Record Keeping: Maintain laboratory notebooks, calibration records, and filing systems.
Assist in creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Project Assistance: Support new projects involving methodology, equipment setup, calibration, and validation.
Create lab trial batches for new formulations.
Continuous Improvement: Work with a mindset focused on improving departmental activities and efficiency.
About You: Qualifications: Degree or associated qualification in a chemistry-based subject, or an HNC with two years' work experience.
Experience: Previous experience with HPLC, GC, AAS or ICP, Karl Fischer, UV-Vis spectrometry, FTIR, and wet chemistry techniques.

Skills and Knowledge (Desired): Motivated and detail-oriented with strong communication, computational, and organizational skills.
Practical experience with methodologies for analysing food supplements/feedstuffs and animal care products (e.g., USP, Ph Eur, AOAC).
Understanding of GMP Pharmaceutical laboratory testing requirements, the nutraceutical and food supplement industry, and UK/EU regulation of feed supplements and labelling.
Familiarity with natural products and ingredients such as Curcumin and Cranberry.
