About this roleThe Lab Technician provides support to facilitate the smooth running of lab.
The Technician is principally responsible for laboratory housekeeping activities and supporting operations to ensure the timely completion of analyses.
Key skills for this role are attention to detail, ability to carefully follow instructions, pride in the work done.Location: Earby, Lancashire, BB18 6JZ.
We will consider full and part time.Scientist Responsibilities: Supporting laboratory teams in day-to-day tasksPerforming some physical tests on client samplesPerforming laboratory housekeepingEnsuring compliance with regulationsRegistering client samples Key Tasks: Manage the availability of clean glasswarePerform routine stocktakes and follow the KANBAN process to ensure purchased stock or reagents are ordered in time for testing schedulesBooking chemicals and consumables in and out, ensuring records are accurateBooking and registering client samplesNotify the appropriate team member of any equipment and consumable requirements deemed necessary to ensure minimum disruption to laboratory operationsMaintain and understand the QMS, produce any quality documents in accordance with data integrity requirementsPerform LabHQ sample submission and registration for prompt delivery to the laboratory for analysisControl sample receipt and reconciliation against client submissionsPerform routine archive of client samplesPerform preparation of high demand diluents and other solutions as required by test methods and proceduresPerform some physical chemistry testing/operate vaping simulation hardwareSome travel between sites to support with stability and archive activities as an when required Lab Technician Requirements: GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths - required.GCSE or equivalent in a Science related subject with a desire to learn the workings of an analytical laboratory – preferred.
