As a Kubernetes Engineer, you will be working in delivery teams building and maintaining OpenShift container platforms to provide strong and resilient business solutions. You will be involved at all stages from design, build, configure, test, and support. Ongoing training is important and the opportunity to increase skills in automation technologies such as Ansible and Terraform is encouraged.

For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our London, Swindon, Northampton, Sheffield, Dunfermline, Bournemouth, or Wakefield office. What you'll be doing Working within the delivery teams, you will work collaboratively with others to build the best solution for Nationwide using your team leadership skills and SME knowledge to offer advice/consultancy, build systems, and work through problems to provide solid working solutions within the Red Hat space. Providing guidance and direction to less experienced Engineers to help create fit-for-purpose designs and/or solutions to meet the team objectives.

You may be required to work on-call from time to time.

About you You will have a proven track record in providing technical delivery through the design, build, and implementation of Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes systems, as well as skills in various automation technologies.

You will have in-depth knowledge & experience of the following:
Red Hat OpenShift Container PlatformRed Hat Enterprise Linux System AdministrationAutomation using Ansible or TerraformDeploying/maintenance of Service MeshBe comfortable working across multiple projects and immersing yourself in a teamBe ready to share your expertise with our emerging talentBuild good working relationships with both technical and business stakeholders, gaining their respect and trust based on your knowledge and professionalismHave the ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies Knowledge and Experience of at least three of the following areas:
RHCSA and/or RHCE certificationRed Hat Enterprise Linux sysadminRed Hat Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)Ansible and/or Ansible Tower certificationIBM TurbonomicNetwork and infrastructure security conceptsAgile project management methodologiesRegulatory environments such as PCI and GDPRWorking with 3rd parties / suppliers Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
