The Boathouse is a 200 cover multi purpose banqueting suite situated in the beautiful grounds of Danson Park in Bexleyheath, South London.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead a small kitchen team.
The ideal candidate will be a HANDS ON chef that has a strong background in high-volume banqueting and event catering, with the ability to create exceptional dishes that impress our clients.
This role requires a creative culinary leader who can manage kitchen operations, maintain high standards of food quality, and ensure a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities: **Culinary Leadership:** Develop and execute innovative menus for various events, including weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
Get involved in the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
**Kitchen Management:** Manage daily kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and food safety compliance.
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance.
**Budgeting and Cost Control:** Monitor food costs and labor expenses to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards.
Implement strategies to minimise waste and maximise efficiency in the kitchen.
**Quality Assurance:** Ensure that all food served meets the highest quality standards and is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
**Menu Development:** Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate seasonal ingredients into menu offerings.
Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the culinary experience.
**Qualifications:** Proven experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in a banqueting or high-volume catering environment.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
