The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation is carried out efficiently and in accordance with food safety standards.
This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
You will be based at Swallowfield Primary School in Woburn Sands.
The role is term time only, Monday - Friday.
Hours are 9:00am - 2:00pm and the rate of pay is £11.44 per hour rising to £12.21 in April 2025.
Duties Assist in the preparation of the fruit and salad bar.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
Support chefs and cooks by performing basic tasks as required.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Help with the storage of food items and proper inventory management Participate in regular kitchen cleaning routines to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is desirable.
Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous.
Basic culinary skills, including food preparation techniques.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks quickly.
Good communication skills to interact with team members effectively.
